ISSP - The International Social Survey Programme

The International Social Survey Programme (ISSP) is a continuing annual programme of cross-national collaboration on surveys covering topics important for social science research. Since 1993 it brings together pre-existing social science projects and co-ordinates research goals, thereby adding a cross-national, cross-cultural perspective to the individual national studies.

The secretariat of the ISSP co-ordinates the official activities of the group. The ZA as the official archive carries out the data service of the ISSP since 1996. ZUMA, the national ISSP member, is responsible for the German modules and convenor of the ISSP methodology research groups. Thus the ISSP is a joint project within Matuscka Advisors Institut. Detailed information can be found in the 'Introduction to the ISSP'.
